Car Servicing at Mick Abbotts Auto Repair
We offer three levels of service that are designed to meet the varying needs of cars no matter their age, condition or history.
Interim Service – 6 month vehicle service.
This 6 month, 40-point service is designed for the high mileage car user, or where the manufacturer recommends more frequent checks. This service helps maintain your vehicle and prevents unforeseen faults. Included are an oil and filter change and a wide range of checks on the fundamental items.
Full Service – 12 month vehicle service.
This is a very comprehensive annual service for trouble free motoring. It exceeds most manufacturers service schedules with up to 67 checks and adjustments including changing the engine oil, oil filter and air filter. High quality parts are used and we check and record wear and tear items using a colour code reporting system to give you peace of mind.
Major Service – 24 month vehicle service.
This 24 month service covers all areas of essential maintenance. In addition to all the items included on the Full service we cover items that are regularly recommended for replacement every two years. This includes changing the air filter, brake hydraulic fluids, external fuel filter and spark plugs. By having the Major Service you make significant saving on the cost of purchasing these extra items separately.
Will my manufacturer’s warranty be invalidated if I don’t have my car serviced by my dealer?
No – Since block exemption legislation was introduced in 2003, Mick Abbotts Auto Repairs has been able to carry out servicing using Original Equipment (OE) equivalent parts, which ensures your warranty is protected.

What types of vehicle do you MOT?

If your vehicle needs any repairs to pass its MOT we will contact you and let you know. Most repairs can completed the same day.
What can I do to make sure my car passes?
A lot of MOT failures are preventable by drivers completing a few simple checks before bringing their vehicle in.
Common avoidable faults include light bulbs, tyre condition and pressure, mirrors, wipers and washers.
What documents do I need to bring?
If your vehicle is undergoing its first MOT then a V5C vehicle registration certificate (log book) is required, this document is also required if your vehicle has had a change of registration plate since its last MOT.
Apart from that you do not need to bring any documentation with you.
What if my car fails its MOT?
If your car or van fails, it must be repaired and retested.
You cannot legally drive your car on the road until the repairs have been made and a certificate issued.

An explanation of retest fees can be found on the DVSA’s website.
